LONDON, Zarja Dostal, 9. b

Our journey began with a gathering to leave. We were all excitedly and cheerfully waiting to go to England. Finally, the time has come when we say out goodbyes to our parents and go to a foreign country for 4 days! When we arrived at the Marco Polo Airport in Venice, we got our tickets and then flew for new experiences. After a total of 8 hours of travel, we finally arrived at the hotel.

The next day we all woke up energized. Not only because of the extra hour of sleep, but also because we were just too excited to see all the amazing sights of London. We started with subway, which nobody has seen in Slovenia before. With it, we drove straight to the Natural History Museum, where we admired dinosaur skeletons, whale models and many more interesting things. Later, we were hungry, so we had a sandwich at some street restaurant. When we had eaten almost everything, we walked to an old pool, where ducks, pigeons, swans are now having fun… We also saw the Royal College of music. We took a walk to the Millennium Bridge. After this, we were exhausted, so we decided to end the journey for today.

On Saturday, we all woke up too late. We almost missed out on breakfast and on gathering which was too early for ninth graders. In the morning, we looked at the London business district, followed by the Greenwich highpoint with beautiful green grasses. Later, we visited a marketplace where prices were quite high. Than followed by one of the best parts of the trip. Riding in a boat. We saw the river Thames up close, Tower Bridge, the London eye and other tourist locations. We also saw the Big Ban, which is currently under construction. We ended the day with a beautiful view of London lights from the highest building in the whole city.

A nice sunny morning woke us up and headed us to the Buckingham Palace, where we watched a change of very serious guards. After some laughing at the guards, we visited a square named after a hero of the English – Duke of Wellington. We also saw many street performances. We took a break for food and shopping in the large open mall. We also saw some English celebrities from Britain’s got talent. However, we saw even more celebrities at the Museum of wax dolls, which we were in for 2 hours. In the evening, some of us ended the day by relaxing in the hotel room and others by watching a musical.

The last day started quite sad as we got in our lower lobby with suitcases. The bus took us to one of the most interesting marketplaces I have ever seen. It was interesting because all the clothes were the same price, but wherever you went, they wanted to negotiate with you for £ 5 lower price. We continued on to one of the most famous universities in the world – Cambridge. After seeing beautiful and interesting buildings, we made our way to the airport and flew straight to Trieste. We were all so tired that when we woke up, we were already in Ljubljana.

I liked the journey very much; it was very educational and fun at the same time. I hope this will be possible for future generations.
